Bianca Coutts
Osteopath B.App. Sci., M.Ost., Int'l. AO.
I have always been interested in how pain and dysfunction presents in animals. Through my equestrian career I saw a lot of problems in horses that manifested as behavioural issues and wasn’t always identified as pain. Even before my osteopathic training I have tried to be aware of behaviours or change in animals that could suggest pain. They have their own ways of trying to tell us and I do think people are becoming more attuned to this, which is great. Injuries happen, they just have a different way of communicating this to us. Which is where I can come in.

My training consisted of five years of fulltime study at Unitec in Auckland, coming out of this with a Bachelor of Applied Science and a Master of Osteopathy.
I have completed the canine portion of my postgraduate Diploma in Animal Osteopathy through Stuart McGregor and the London College of Osteopathy and am currently completing the equine portion.

On a personal note, I competed in show jumping at a national level, with particular involvement in the young horse age group series. My real passion has always been in producing young horses. I enjoy working with young horses to give them a positive start and move them up through the age group ranks. I also enjoy working with ‘problem’ horses – trying to get to the root cause of their issues. I am also the proud owner of a dog named Suki.
